Motorhome TV Licence
Written by Harry and Sheila
Wednesday, 18 November 2009 16:27

Hi, Can you help me please. Do I need to buy a TV licence to watch television programmes whilst I am on the road in my motorhome? I do have a tv in my van but I tend to watch more on my computer. I know the odds of being detected are pretty slim but I would like to know the legal situation.

ANSWER by the Editor You don't need a tv licence to watch 'catch-up' (programmes viewed after their live transmission date) or programmes on ITV, Channel Four, Five or any other commercial broadcaster. Neither do you need one to watch catch-up TV on programs such as the BBC iPlayer. However, you will need a tv licence to watch or record any live programming. That is anything that you watch as it is acually being broadcast, no matter who the broadcaster is or what device you plan to watch it on, even on your mobile phone. If you are watching these live broadcasts at home and have a tv licence there you will be covered by your existing tv licence. If you are in any doubt you can find out more details on the official tv licensing website. You can find it at http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk I hope this answers your query.

Hello Ken, Found your site and found it very informative. We are wondering if you can help us. We have a 3 berth Esterel folding caravan 1986, but no instruction manual... we broke one of the windows putting the sides up and down last year, we can't remember if the windows are supposed to be fastened closed or open when closing the sides. Also we do not have a clue about the electric/gas...... 230v -12v gas or propane these kind of things....As I said we are complete novices. We live in Chapel en le Frith and wondered if there was any of your members close by to advise us. Many thanks and regards Sue and Gordon This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Removing a Fridge from an Elderly Hymer
Written by Tony
Sunday, 15 November 2009 07:34
Hi A friend is seeking advice on how to remove the fridge from an elderly Hymer A-class, circa 1988. It is installed under the hob in the end kitchen and all the fridge controls are in a panel which runs the full width of the kitchen unit, a panel which does not appear to be part of the fridge itself. there are no visible fixings around the side of the fridge but there is a stainless steel or aluminium bezel which I suspect should be levered off to expose whatever fixings hold the fridge in place. All advice welcome! Tony This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Lunar lunacy is the new term for the senseless behaviour of any dealer or
manufacturer of motorhomes and caravans. It doesn't matter if they are not
Lunar connected.

We bought a Lunar Pinnacle Motorhome in July, have written letters soon
after and since, to be ignored.

The whole story can be found at:

Just put that in the top browser and not Google.

Thanks

Hello. Has anyone ever evaluated the possible MPG/...
Hello.

Has anyone ever evaluated the possible MPG/air flow efficiency differences
between what I call 'smooth' shapes and 'lumpy' shapes the later having the
lump above the cab and the smooth has the body shape following the line of
the windscreen back if you know what I mean!

I look forward to your comments.

Regards,

Richard Somerset
